Private label activewear project examples

Four anonymised sourcing scenarios that show how activewear brands can plan product references, fabric direction, branding, sampling and delivery assumptions before a formal quote.

Running capsule sourcing scenario

A French running label’s sublimated capsule

The brief. A Paris-based running brand wanted an all-over gradient capsule — leggings and tops — but their previous supplier could not hold the print through stretch zones.

What we did. We moved the styles onto light polyester knit engineered for sublimation, ran the gradient in our in-house print room, and pressure-tested prints over maximum-stretch zones before approval.

The planning lesson. All-over print projects need early alignment on fabric base, artwork stretch behavior, color approval and sample review before production assumptions are confirmed.

Yoga brand supplier planning scenario

A Nordic yoga brand leaves its trading company

The brief. A Stockholm yoga label was scaling but couldn’t trace which factory actually made its bestsellers — sizing drifted between batches and questions took a week to answer.

What we did. We rebuilt their two hero styles from a reference garment, locked grade rules against their published size chart, and put every lot through in-line plus final AQL checks with photo reports.

The planning lesson. When a brand changes supplier, the first step is not only quoting. It is rebuilding the reference style, confirming grade rules, reviewing fit expectations and documenting quality requirements.

A Singapore pilates studio launches its own label

A Singapore pilates studio launches its own label

The brief. A boutique pilates studio wanted retail-quality sets for members — without holding big inventory or hiring a designer.

What we did. They picked two styles from our stock program, we applied their logo by heat transfer and packed retail-ready with their hang tags.

The planning lesson. Studio brands can often start by choosing ready-to-brand silhouettes, then clarifying logo, label, packaging and color direction before asking for a detailed quote.

A Dubai modest-activewear line, built from a sketch

A Dubai modest-activewear line, built from a sketch

The brief. A Dubai founder came with sketches for a modest activewear capsule — full-coverage lines with performance fabric, a category her local market lacked.

What we did. The sketches were organized into a clearer development brief with coverage, fabric, fit and sample expectations before moving toward a quote path.

The planning lesson. Early-stage custom ideas need product boundaries first: coverage, support, length, fabric weight, branding and target customer. That makes ODM conversations more efficient.

The pattern behind these cases

Details are anonymised and simplified, but the pattern is consistent: useful activewear sourcing starts with clear references, target quantity, fabric direction, branding requirements and delivery assumptions. The better the brief, the easier it is to compare ready-to-brand, private label, OEM and ODM routes.

Start your own version

A practical way to start is to shortlist reference styles from the product library, define fabric and branding expectations, then request sourcing advice before asking for final numbers. Route planning notes are on the quote planning page.
